Damian Lillard is known for many iconic late-game moments, during the regular season and in the playoffs. “Dame Time” is an iconic phrase now, and there’s plenty of evidence for Lillard rising to the occasion.
One of his most memorable plays in recent memory was a long-range game-winner against the Oklahoma City Thunder during the first round of the playoffs in 2019, the shot that sent stars Russell Westbrook and Paul George home.

This shot was notably called a “bad shot” by Paul George, and there’s no doubt that it would be a bad shot for any player who isn’t comfortable with pulling from that kind of range. However, Lillard is known for his elite outside shot, and there’s no doubt that the shot worked out in the end.
However, that game and series winner was certainly a high-difficulty shot. During a recent Bio Freeze commercial, Damian Lillard himself was surprised with how far out he shot it from, which was 37 feet.
. @Dame_Lillard couldn't believe how far his 2019 game and series winner vs. the Thunder was during a BioFreeze commercial.
"That's far as sh*t," Lillard says of the 37-footer 🤣

Was it this far? Bruh that’s far. That’s far as s*it.
There’s no question that Damian Lillard has put in the work to be able to shoot from that range. He can take over in the crucial moments, and that’s what you want from your superstar. While the Portland Trail Blazers didn’t win the championship the year this shot happened, they did manage to get to the Western Conference Finals before getting swept by Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
Hopefully, we are able to see more of Damian Lillard’s iconic moments in the playoffs in the future. The Portland Trail Blazers star is one of the best point guards in the league, and he has led the Portland Trail Blazers to the playoffs many times. Perhaps he can go deep into the playoffs this season or in the future, and continue to show what he can do on the highest stage.
