Michael Jordan can be a bit of an enigma, as details of his personal life are unknown. But we now know he is a big fan of snacks. Damon Wayans Jr. spoke in a recent interview about his upbringing and how blessed his childhood was. During the interview, Wayans Jr. revealed that Michael Jordan would come over to their house, as they were neighbors, and eat his snacks.

Damon Wayans Jr.: “We were so incredibly privileged… We always had activities, and always had friends over. Snacks! So many snacks, it was great. The snack game was off the chain. Michael Jordan used to come over and eat all our snacks. That’s how good our snacks were. Jordan is in there, munching on your food? He came over too much. Shoutout to Jordan though.”

Damon Wayans Sr.: “It was amazing to have him. All my friends would want to come over, not to see me, but hope to see him, just to get a glimpse of Michael Jordan. One thing I really put my foot down on was ‘Don’t bother him’. He moved in for the whole summer. I only went over to the house once because he invited me in. Did the fan in me want to be in there every day? Yes, because I could see him from my window…”

It was good that Damon Wayans Sr. and his family never tried to bother Michael Jordan. The former NBA champion struggled with his privacy many times in his career, as the media and paparazzi would constantly hound him. However, Wayans Sr. would get to spend quite some time with Michael Jordan.

Damon Wayans Sr. was on a popular sitcom called ‘My Wife and Kids’. In one episode of the show, Wayans Sr.’s character, Michael Richard Kyle, tried playing one-on-one against Michael Jordan. He talked a lot of trash against Jordan, only to get stopped after one layup. Kyle would beg Jordan for another chance, but Mike wouldn’t oblige.

This episode aired in September of 2004, just a year after Michael Jordan had retired from the NBA for a third and final time. This means they would have filmed this episode just a few months before it aired. The timeline of Jordan’s and Wayans’ neighborhood is unknown, but one can’t be surprised if it was revealed Jordan agreed to be on the show while he was neighbors with Wayans.

Michael Jordan’s Life In The 2000s Is A Mystery

Not much of Michael Jordan’s life from the 2000s is known. He briefly made a return to the NBA in 2001, as part of his role in the Washington Wizards front office. But even then, Jordan finally made use of his vast resources to keep his life as private as possible. But he did do one important thing that fans want to know more about.

Michael Jordan reportedly invited LeBron James to his summer training camp. James was just a high school player at the time but was an incredible prospect. The man who would perennially be compared to Jordan for his entire career jumped on the opportunity to play alongside his idol.

James recently told the story, talking about how mesmerized he was getting the chance to play with his favorite player of all time. Recently, Tim Hardaway Sr. corroborated James’ account of events.

Surely, many fans in the world would wish to be a fly on the wall at those summer camps, just to get a glimpse of LeBron James and Michael Jordan playing together.
