Michael Jordan always delighted fans around the world with his incredible performances. He became a very famous person on his way to becoming the greatest basketball player of all time.
Being the best basketball player in the world and one of the most famous people on the planet, MJ drew a lot of attention wherever he went. He became friends with many famous people, including Mark Wahlberg, Jamie Foxx, and others.
However, not every famous person actually rooted for Mike, and one of the best actors of all time once tried to play a big role in MJ’s performances due to his fanaticism for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Denzel Washington Once Witnessed Michael Jordan’s Greatness Firsthand
A couple of years ago, Denzel Washington, famous for doing movies like “John Q,” “Training Day,” and more, discussed his love for basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers, the arrival of LeBron James to the Purple and Gold, and even the best player of all time. Talking with Jimmy Kimmel Denzel talked about the greatest player ever, and even though he doubted at the beginning, the legendary actor ended up picking MJ.
“I was at the Chicago Bulls game with Spike Lee. Michael Jordan made that famous shot. I was there. And we went out to dinner last night. And he was famous. I was doing security work. Michael Jordan was famous. I went out with him after that game, ’cause after that game, they were coming to L.A., and I was trying to get him drunk, trying to get him off… Didn’t work.”
Kimmel was curious about MJ’s drinking tactics, but Washington said that Jordan didn’t do shots, and he only put the drink on his lip and then put it down. Jimmy then asked again if MJ was the GOAT and Denzel had a big response.
“He was that night,” Washington finally admitted before bursting into laughter.
There are many cool stories about Jordan, but most of them talk about the legendary player being able to go out all night, have little to no sleep, and then drop 30 points on his rivals. This time, he tried to be careful and not mess anything before a big game against the always dangerous Los Angeles Lakers.
MJ knew how to enjoy himself and have a nice time while out, but he was also quick to identify when a situation could be bad for him.
