After securing his ticket to the Finals, Draymond Green wasted no time trying to play mind games with his future opponent.

Ahead of Game 6 between the Celtics and Heat, he went on his podcast to predict a series against the Celtics in the Finals. Naturally, the Heat took it to heart:

“Draymond broke the code,” Haslem told Yahoo Sports after the Heat’s 111-103 victory. “You ain’t supposed to say some s*** like that. That’s disrespectful. He know better than that. He let Shaq peer pressure him into saying some s*** he ain’t got no business saying. I didn’t sleep much after he said that. That was some bulls***.”

Asked Erik Spoelstra on how Draymond Green’s comment motivated the Heat locker room. “I don’t know. Each person can find different forms of motivation. We have a big audacious goal that’s motivating enough,” he said. #HEATCulture

Miami was able to force a Game 7 and nearly came back to win before losing in a close game on Sunday. They were sent home in disappointment — and Draymond took a jab at them for being ‘motivated’ by his previous words:

“It was exciting to know that people pay that much attention to my words and what I say. Wow. They really watched what I had to say and that motivated them? I’m getting better at this motivational thing. That’s great,” Green said.

Draymond isn’t going to stop his trash talk, but it might serve him best to slow his role for the upcoming Finals. After beating the Nets, Bucks, and Heat, the C’s have proven they are cut above the rest of the competition.

Even for a Warriors team loaded with talent and experience, Boston will be a tough challenge and they will not go down without a major fight.
