Draymond Green and Stephen Curry are complete opposites on the court and off it as well, but they have formed an incredibly successful partnership over the years. They and the Warriors as a whole had been written off as contenders after failing to make the playoffs in 2020 as well as 2021 but they roared back to win it all in 2022.
Curry was simply spectacular on the biggest stage as he ripped apart that vaunted Boston Celtics defense on his way to winning Finals MVP. Steph was also in line for another award this season, as Sports Illustrated crowned him as the Sportsperson of the Year. Curry became just the second NBA player after LeBron James to win the award twice and Draymond who was in attendance at the awards show had some big praise for his teammate.

“For him to at 34, soon to be 35 years old still at the top of, not only basketball but at the top of sports is such a special thing. I couldn’t be more honored to play with a guy that committed to his craft, that committed to excellence, that committed to being a great person. As we know, you don’t just win this award for being a good player. It is everything that goes into it… everything that he’s doing in the community, such a special human being. I’m honored to have a teammate like that.”
Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson had also recently spoken about what a great person Curry is and he couldn’t understand how a player can be so great and humble. Steph has been a great face of the franchise for the Warriors as he has been the consummate professional and has never found himself in any kind of trouble.
Stephen Curry Speaks On How Much Longer He’ll Play In The NBA
All good things must come to an end though, and a day will come when even the great Stephen Curry has to walk away from the game. That day isn’t too far away, as Curry is going to be 35 soon as Draymond pointed out.
Steph was asked about it during the awards show and said he doesn’t see himself slowing down anytime soon. He had a conversation with Tom Brady who told him to take it year by year and while Steph definitely isn’t going to play in his 40s like Brady, he hopefully has a few very good seasons left in him.
