An insane game of basketball just finished as the two most successful teams in NBA history locked horns in an overtime classic. The Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Boston Celtics in a sensational matchup where both teams took big leads and blew them in a back-and-forth classic.

The Lakers fell down by 20 points over the course of the first 3 quarters of the game but went on an incredible run where they held the Celtics to just 5 points in a period of 10 minutes. They took a 13-point lead and proceeded to blow it at the end, with Anthony Davis missing crucial free throws at the end of regulation.

Fans can’t believe the Lakers got back into the game and then still proceeded to blow it.

Lakers got like five Ls this season that were pretty much guarantee wins and that's the difference right now..

16-11 would be looking a lot prettier…

Oh well.

The Celtics' biggest lead was 20 in the 3rd quarter.

The Lakers' outscored them 41-9 and led by 13 with 3:43 left in the game.

Boston then outscored LA 29-12 over the final 3:43 of the 4th and OT.

i would’ve rather just lost in regulation. literally 2 over time blow outs in a row where u could’ve won the game at the line man in regulation. jesus christ

EVERY OVERTIME ITS THE SAME STORY WAKE UP

BRON/AD TOO TIRED SO WE GOT WANNABE PRIME KOBE IN THE CORNER JUST PULLING SHOTS LIKE NO TOMORROW

The stars of both teams showed up, with Jayson Tatum leading the charge with 44 points. Anthony Davis had 37 points but missed the free throws that cost the Lakers this season. LeBron James had an efficient 33 points, while Jaylen Brown hit the overtime dagger 3 and ended with 25 points.

Will The Lakers Take Positives From This Game?

The Lakers showed their defensive strength to get back into the game. LeBron was reading the court expertly, Davis was impactful on the inside, and Russell Westbrook showed a tremendous defensive effort to help the Lakers go on their insane run. But blowing this game will sting, given the 13-point lead they had at the death of the game.

Evidently, depth is an issue. The Lakers were too tired for the younger and deeper Celtics squad. With trade season almost underway, the Lakers might have to make some moves to give this team some solidity beyond LBJ and AD.
