Giannis Antetokounmpo And Michael Jordan Are The Only Players Who Accomplished This Through 9 Years: NBA Champion, Multiple MVPs, DPOY, 4 All-NBA First Team, And All-NBA Defensive First Team

Giannis Antetokounmpo is just 27 years of age, but he has somehow achieved nearly every award possible at the NBA level. After he led the Milwaukee Bucks to their first championship in half a century in 2021, Giannis claimed the Finals MVP and added it to his ever-growing collection of accolades.

Last season wasn’t one where he added a lot to that tally, although he did make it to the All-NBA First Team once again, as well as the All-NBA Defensive First Team. This marked the 4th consecutive season he was able to achieve those things, and his ridiculously decorated NBA career in that time has put him into rarified company alongside none other than the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo through 9 seasons:
4x All-NBA 1st Team, 4x All-Defensive 1st Team, 2x MVP, DPOY, NBA Champion.
The only other player to accomplish this in their career was Michael Jordan.”

The fact that he has shown such elite two-way dominance means he is arguably the most complete player the league has seen since MJ himself. The sky is the limit for Antetokounmpo, who has just entered his prime and will have 5-6 seasons to add to his tally and put himself in the conversation with the greatest players to have ever played the game.

Giannis came into the league in 2013 and, in 9 seasons, went from someone considered to be a long shot as a prospect to arguably the best basketball player in the world at this time. This is an amazing leap for a player that came over very young from Greece and wasn’t expected to be as good as he is.

The best part about this whole situation is that a lot of Antetokounmpo’s story is yet to be written. His journey until now has been amazing enough to have inspired a movie, but there is still a lot more to come. If this carries on, his name will ring out in NBA history louder than a few of the most legendary players to ever grace the game.
