Ime Udoka Says The Celtics Would Be Up 3-1 On The Warriors If They Played Offense “The Right Way”

The Boston Celtics have finally broken through to the NBA Finals this year after a few years of not being able to get past the Eastern Conference Finals. There is no doubt that they had a tough road to get there, and it is good to see Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum finally lead the team to the highest stage.

The job is not done yet though, and the Boston Celtics will need to beat an experienced veteran team in the Golden State Warriors. Their trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson have won multiple championships, and they won’t be easy to beat. The series is currently tied 2-2.

Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka has recently claimed that the Boston Celtics would have a 3-1 lead on the Golden State Warriors if they played offense “the right way”. It is fair to say that the Boston Celtics have gotten stagnant for multiple stretches in these Finals, and it is easy to see why Ime Udoka thinks that.

Ime Udoka: "If we were playing offense the right way, we would be up 3-1, at least, right now."

“If we were playing offense the right way, we would be up 3-1, at least, right now.”

As of right now, though, the Boston Celtics cannot dwell on the past. They need to focus on improving their offense for the rest of the series and continue to play the defense that they have been. It is true that Stephen Curry has obviously been on a tear, even becoming the third-oldest player to score 40 points in a Finals game in Game 3. However, the Boston Celtics have done a good job of limiting the other players on the Warriors offensively, and we’ll see what strategy they go to in Game 5.

Hopefully, we see the Boston Celtics figure out their issues offensively going forward. Even if they lose, this series could become a foundation for next season, and there’s no doubt that these Boston Celtics will be around for a long time.
