Grizzlies star Ja Morant is once again under fire, but this time it’s not for anything that happened on the court.

Last month, after a heated game against the Indiana Pacers, Morant and his “crew” were allegedly harassing the Pacers’ travel party by targeting them with red laser pointers and initiating “aggressive” confrontations.

While nobody was hurt in the ordeal, it’s not a good look at all for Ja who is already in hot water with the NBA community for his over-abundant and unearned confidence.

While we do not yet know what role Ja played in the antics (if any), he was apparently with the group as the acts are happening.

Following a game between the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 29 in Memphis, acquaintances of Grizzlies star Ja Morant aggressively confronted members of the Pacers traveling party near the team’s bus in the loading area of FedExForum, and later someone in a slow-moving SUV — which Morant was riding in — trained a red laser on them.

Whatever happened that night, Ja doesn’t agree with the reports. Amid all the slander and noise directed at his camp, the Grizzlies star took to Instagram to call out the story as a complete fabrication.

Morant is obviously going to defend himself here, so it’s no surprise his first mention of this story is to call it a lie. Whether you believe him or not, Morant keeps making both himself and his team extremely unlikeable.

Are The Memphis Grizzlies The Most Hated Team In Basketball?

On the court, there is no question that the Grizzlies have the talent to dominate the West for years to come. With Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks, Desmond Bane, and Steven Adams, the Grizzlies have a solid core of well-rounded guys who have proven they play well together.

Unfortunately, all the trash-talking they do behind the scenes has rubbed many fans (and some players) the wrong way.

“They were talking about dynasty and all of that. You can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before,” said 4x Champion Klay Thompson on the Grizzlies. “I thought that was premature talk. I don’t think people realize how hard that is. The commitment, the sacrifice, the faith. You gotta sacrifice your body. I thought that was premature talk… They bring the best out of us and I think they do the same, and if you don’t like them, you gotta respect them because they’re a threat.”

With this latest scandal underway, it will only serve to give the haters another excuse to root against Ja and his Grizzlies.

But if he doesn’t get out in front of this story and set the record straight, this could become a distraction for them during this final regular-season stretch.
