Karl-Anthony Towns has been extremely energetic ever since the Minnesota Timberwolves qualified for the playoffs. The energy is flowing through the team as they have been very active in trying to talk their opponents into imitation. However, everyone knows that doesn’t work in the playoffs.
The Timberwolves are extremely solid as a team and have been performing well. However, they let their antics get ahead of them and the Memphis Grizzlies proved why that shouldn’t happen during Game 3 of the first-round matchup between these teams.
The Timberwolves took a massive lead through the game, leading by over 20 points at a time. However, they completely collapsed in the fourth quarter and were outscored by 25 points to lose the game by 9. Earlier in the game, KAT was recorded talking trash about the Grizzlies and how Memphis can’t dominate in Minnesota like how they did at their home court.
Yikes. 😬

“Yeah, we in Minnesota now. Like I said to the media, we gotta come back to our house now. I have only seen them in their house.”
This quote reads like famous last words, as this is a very humiliating loss. The NBA thrives on the culture of talking trash and then backing it up. However, this was the opposite. Minnesota couldn’t even hold on to one of the biggest leads of the playoffs this season and still managed to almost lose by double digits.
Towns himself had a nightmare performance, scoring just 8 points on 4 attempted shots the entire game. His passive play is one of the reasons why Minnesota couldn’t close their massive lead out. He only had 5 rebounds but had 5 blocks to leave some positive impact on the game.
Memphis has earned home-court advantage once again after Minnesota stole it post-Game 1 win. The momentum is clearly swinging towards the #2 seeded Grizzlies who have gone up 2-1 now.
