After dropping 25 points on 56% shooting on Tuesday, Kevin Durant found himself the subject of another one of Kendrick Perkins’ hot takes
On Twitter, the ESPN analyst, and former NBA big man, posted the following:
I repeat we have never seen a BUCKET like Kevin Durant. He can score from anywhere on the floor and he’s Efficient as they come. The greatest SCORER of All-Time!!! Carry the hell on…

There have been a lot of great scorers in NBA history. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Allen Iverson, and even Steph Curry can all claim the title of GOAT bucket-getter.
At the very least, Kevin Durant has to be in the conversation. As a 7-foot swingman with a long wingspan, natural shooting stroke, and great footwork, he’s almost impossible to stop. He can score in a multitude of ways with great efficiency.
Like Perkins, Skip Bayless also has the 2x Finals MVP at the top of his list.
“Kevin Durant is the best player on the planet,” said Skip.”KD is the most talented scorer we’ve ever seen. Jordan was a supremely talented overachiever, but at 6’6″, he wasn’t as gifted. Kevin is 7 ft. tall with an 8-foot wingspan. (…) We’ve never seen anything like Kevin Durant and you can say ‘well, has it done at the highest level?’ Back-to-back Finals, he went to LeBron’s house for Game 3s, in the King’s house, in his palace, and he owned those games. He made shots right in LeBron’s grill, jumper after mid-range jumper. Kevin Durant is the best mid-range shooter we have seen since Michael Jordan and for him to be back-to-back Finals MVP just cemented and validated the case. Yes, he can do it at the highest level, against the King.”
This season, Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game on 51.8% shooting. It’s right up there with some of the best seasons of his career.
Still, the job is not finished for the 13-year veteran. With his Nets now squarely in the playoffs, it’ll be up to him and Kyrie Irving to carry the franchise through some steep competition.
If they come out on top, Durant could become more than the greatest scorer ever, he could become one of the greatest players ever (if he’s not there already).
