The Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden Big 3 never paid off for the Brooklyn Nets, who had little time to enjoy these three players on the court. When that happened, they were nearly unstoppable, but injuries and a couple of incidents prevented fans from seeing them succeed at Barclays Center.

Just like he did in Houston, Harden forced his way out of Brooklyn, earning some criticism from fans and analysts who thought he quit on his team. Now, the Beard is trying to win in Philadelphia while Durant is carrying the Nets to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Ahead of the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade at the deadline, many reports suggested that KD and Harden barely communicated, and they had different opinions on the direction the team should have taken.

Kevin Durant And James Harden Reportedly Disagreed In Several Instances

Yaron Weitzman of Fox Sports reports that many situations within the Nets organization led to Harden’s departure, starting from the Kyrie Irving thing and how different James and Kevin saw things for the team.

First, there was the whole Kyrie Irving vaccination mess. Also, Harden and Durant, according to multiple Nets sources, butted heads during the season – Durant didn’t think Harden was in peak physical shape, and told him as much; Harden, meanwhile, struggled to adjust to an ecosystem where everything was no longer catered to him.

According to a friend, Harden also became frustrated with the Nets training staff and its focus on maintenance, rest and recovery; after all, in Houston he’d run stadium stairs and lift – even after games sometimes – and he never got hurt.

When many thought these two teamed up to win a lot of titles together, nothing happened, and they ended up as a disappointing superteam. Fortunately, after this situation, Harden and Durant made amends and even trained together during the offseason.

Parting ways was the best decision for them, although they’re both struggling to reach the top right now. Both the Nets and Sixers entered this season with certain expectations, and it’s taken a while, but they’re getting there.
