Kyle Kuzma is in an interesting spot in his NBA career. The former champion has entered his prime and has found himself playing at a borderline All-Star level when it comes to stats. He’s currently on the Washington Wizards but has spoken about the possibility of wanting a bigger contract and playing in what would be considered to be a bigger market.

It’s easy to understand why Kyle Kuzma would want this, he did spend the majority of his career with the Lakers in Los Angeles. That is about as high profile as it gets, and perhaps Kuzma misses the bright lights. He has been linked with a move back to the Lakers, an associate of LeBron James even termed it a real possibility. And his latest interview with ESPN is likely to only fan that fire, especially after he revealed what Rob Pelinka told him before trading him to the Washington Wizards.

“I was walking my dog,” Kuzma said. “I got a call from Rob and he was like, ‘Hey man, I love you, this is just a part of the business and this is never a ‘goodbye,’ it’s always a ‘see you later.'”

This would imply that the Lakers’ brain trust is very open to the possibility of Kuzma coming back to the team at some point in the future. His love for California and the Lakers is public knowledge at this point, and with the Lakers’ roster not looking too set or anything, this could become a reality in the coming years.

NBA Analyst Urges The Lakers To Make A Move For Kyle Kuzma

The Los Angeles Lakers have enjoyed a few impressive wins lately, but they need to find a way to get even better moving forward. And this might involve bringing Kuzma back, something that an NBA analyst thinks would make total sense for them

“Kuz is one of the archetypes of forwards who can really help the Lakers. While he isn’t elite at any one thing on offense, he can do everything at a reasonably high level to the point that a random 30+ point night isn’t out of the question vs. any level of opponent.

“Kuz is also a capable defender and rebounder who would allow the Lakers to not shoehorn a smaller defender onto a big wing or force LeBron into that matchup. Including the pick is the cost of doing business here, and the real battle would be over protections.”

The more news that comes out on this subject, the more signs point toward a Lakers reunion for Kuzma. He may not be a superstar, but he has blossomed into a star at the NBA level, and the Lakers could use that. If it happens, it would be a heartwarming story for both Lakers fans and Kuzma as well.
