Mark Cuban Trolls Rajon Rondo: “I Hope He Shoots A Lot.”

2 Min Read

Mark Cuban spiced things up ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers-Dallas Mavericks series set to start this Sunday. The Mavericks owner took a cheeky dig at his former player, Rajon Rondo, and his shooting abilities.

If you know Rondo, he has never been a great shooter, and Cuban took advantage of that to troll the point guard, saying he expects him to try a lot from beyond the arc. During an appearance on Thursday on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Cuban said:

“I hope he shoots a lot,” said Cuban of Rondo. “I hope he takes more shots than any guy on the team from outside the paint.”

Rajon won the NBA championship last year with the Lakers, and he’s trying to help the Clippers take the next step and win their first-ever NBA title this campaign. Many fans and analysts believe this was the move they needed to make, and they did so at the trade deadline.

This will be a rematch of the Clippers and Mavs series last year, with the Californians beating Luka Doncic and co. in the Orlando bubble.

Now they have more factors to spice things up. First, Rondo’s relationship with the Mavericks (and the coach) wasn’t precisely the best. He publicly clashed with Rick Carlisle and gave up on his teammates in his final game with the squad.

Cuban said that was part of the past but those comments could spark something inside Rondo that the Mavs will regret. We are about to see ‘Playoffs Rondo,’ something that doesn’t please anybody but the Clippers.
