Michael Jordan’s Son Marcus On The 2nd Best Player Ever: ‘I Can’t Put LeBron There Yet. I’m Probably Going With Hakeem Olajuwon.’

Michael Jordan is almost unanimously deemed the greatest player of all time. However, modern fans tend to lean towards a guy they’ve seen playing from day one, which is normal, to say the least.

So, that has made the never-ending debate between Jordan and LeBron James go at an all-time high, now that we’ve seen ‘The Last Dance’ featuring some never-seen footage and interviews regarding MJ’s final year with the Chicago Bulls.

And with that spirit of Jordan being the greatest ever, his son Marcus didn’t even want to give James the nod for number two, as he recently told NBC Sports that he’d rank Hakeem Olajuwon ahead of James, at least for the time being:

“Until LeBron retires, I can’t put him there yet. For me, I’m probably going Hakeem [Olajuwon],” Marcus claimed.

Obviously, given how competitive his father is, he wouldn’t be welcome a 100-meters outside of his father’s premises if he’d say otherwise. Also, Jordan has lauded The Dream in the past, even going as far as to claim that he’d be the only player he’d choose other than himself:

“If I could get any player of All-Time? Hakeem Olajuwon, not counting myself of course,” Jordan told a basketball camp, as quoted by Essentially Sports.

Let’s not forget about the fact that Olajuwon was the 1st overall pick of that legendary 1984 NBA Draft. He was so good that no fan in Houston Rockets history has ever said ‘Hey, I hope we’d taken Jordan instead of Hakeem’.

The Rockets dominated the league in the two years Jordan was retired and Olajuwon led them to back-to-back NBA Championships. Also, he’s a two-time Finals MVP, MVP, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Gold medalist, and the league’s all-time leader in blocks (3,830).

Olajuwon has quite the resume and even though no one seems to put him as high as 2nd, it seems like LeBron still has some work to do to change the narrative on the Jordan household.
