Nate Robinson and Nick Young have had a rivalry brewing over the last year or so. While both players have been out of the NBA for some time, their rivalry developed during their time away from the court. Robinson became the butt of jokes after he got knocked out in a boxing match with internet personality Jake Paul. Young trolled Robinsons, especially because Robinson said he would represent his 'NBA brothers' in the fight. After the loss, Young took to Twitter to say that he didn't represent the NBA fraternity well.
Since then, the two have seemingly stayed quiet toward each other, but the rivalry has begun once again. Nick Young took to Twitter recently to take shots at Isaiah Thomas and the Pro-Am league in Portland. He said that the kind of score players were averaging showed that the competition isn't serious enough. Young then joked that the Pro-Am league needs to stop getting players from the liquor store to take part in the league.
"I mean no disrespect but Seattle and Portland gotta have the worst pro-am hoops they letting ppl score 92 81 70 50 50 come on y’all stop getting ppl from in front of the liquor store and telling them to come hoop lol"
Robinson took to Instagram to respond to Young's comments about the Pro-Am league in Portland and Seattle. He pointed to the fact that Young struggled in the Drew League, another Pro-Am league. He believes that he shouldn't be talking down on players who take part in Portland's Pro-Am league. Robinson extended an invite to Young to come to play in the league and perform well like Isaiah Thomas, something he doesn't think Young can do.
"Oh no, this Coming from my guy @swaggyp1 lol tears 😭… come on bro u have played in hella @drewleague games and haven’t scored 37 like my bro @isaiahthomaslol that was it 2nd game in the drew lol... dnt down play of PNW hoppers... u can come play Sunday @thecrawsover and see if u can get 40 I bet u can’t on ur best day lol 😂 but feel free to try bro"
Nick Young hasn't made any kind of response to Robinson as of yet. Clearly, Robinson doesn't think Young can do what Isaiah Thomas did in a Pro-Am game, especially in the Pro-Am league in Portland. But if Young takes Robinson up on that challenge, it will be interesting to see how that Pro-Am game goes forward.
