Zion Williamson is a player that fans have been looking forward to properly seeing in action for a long time now. His rookie season as the No. 1 overall pick was marred by injury, but he showed just how great he could be in his sophomore year. A foot injury kept him out for the entirety of the 2021-22 season, though, so it’s been a while since fans got to witness Zion on the court.
And his injuries have been a major talking point for a while, many expressed their concern that he would never really be completely healthy. A lot of this also had to do with his weight, with Zion appearing quite overweight at times and fans suggesting this is what was causing his issues. As with any young star that misses a whole season, though, Williamson’s stock thoroughly fell to the point where his elite ability might be underrated. But things have been looking up in terms of his fitness.
Zion Williamson Looked Jacked At His Press Conference, And Fans Can’t Get Enough
Throughout the offseason, optimism about Zion’s health has been increasing steadily. Pictures and videos of him looking shredded have been making the rounds, and many felt this is the season where he would seriously make an impact on the NBA again. And his appearance on Media Day has done nothing but add fuel to the fire, with Zion looking shredded and fans taking notice immediately.

“If out of shape Zion was putting up 30+ without breaking a sweat it’s going to be scary for the rest of the NBA.”
“He might legitimately average 30 and 15.”
“Red Alert to the league…he’s about to take over.”
“Zion and the Pels about to have a monster season.”
“My guy finally stopped going to Burger King and started hitting the gym.”
“Lookout NBA! He’s a lock to win an MVP in next 4 years if he stays in shape & healthy.”
“This has made me so happy.”
“League not ready for ripped Zion.”
“He’s about to be MVP idgaf.”
“Hopefully he stays healthy, he gonna dominate this season.”
“Glad he’s healthy. Ready to see the Pelicans as a full unit this year, could be a special year.”
The New Orleans Pelicans roster has also been a factor in increased optimism, they made noise in the playoffs last season even without Zion. If he can come back and continue his development while staying healthy, nobody will want to face the Pelicans in the postseason. Exciting times to be a fan of Zion and the NBA!
