Russell Westbrook has a love-hate relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers fanbase. There are times when fans love to see him don the purple and gold jersey, but in some stretches looking at Westbrook’s game makes them wonder if he really deserves to be on the roster.

Over the last few games, Russell Westbrook has been going through one of those stretches. Even though he has adjusted pretty well to his role of being a sixth man for the Los Angeles Lakers. There is still a huge doubt in the minds of the fans about his mindset.

It became even clearer when Westbrook famously asked the Lakers to just have fun instead of being more greedy as LeBron James wanted.

Russell Westbrook Gets Roasted By NBA Fans After Going Through A Rough Patch

There have been several times this season when the Lakers have played elite-level basketball. But most of the time, those games have been followed by losing streaks. The Lakers most recently lost against the Boston Celtics following a controversial no-foul call in the last few seconds of the regulation clock.

In the game, Westbrook recorded just 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists while shooting an abysmal 4-14 from the field. Keeping that in mind, a Twitter account pointed to Westbrook’s poor stats over the last four games.

The Twitter account mocked Brodie for his having fun comments, and other NBA fans online joined in to call out Westbrook.

While it’s true that Westbrook is struggling right now, he has had a good season otherwise. Westbrook has helped the Lakers get strong numbers from the bench and playing limited minutes.

Hopefully, Westbrook can snap out of this slump and get back to playing. The Los Angeles Lakers certainly need him to be on the top of his game now more than they ever did. But whether that will happen, only time will tell.
