NBA Fans Emotionally React To Bill Russell Passing Away At 88: “A Wonderful Man And The Biggest Legend On The Court. May He Rest In Peace.”

There are certain moments in life when one remembers exactly what they were doing. Today brought another sad moment to NBA fans across the world, with the passing of the legendary Bill Russell. The most prolific winner in NBA history, Russell broke many barriers for his community and firmly established himself as one of the most influential people to have ever lived. 

Russell’s 11 championships as a player, and his two as a coach, made him the first Head Coach of color to win in the history of American sports. His name is brought up to this day on the list of ultimate winners, as well as the GOAT conversation. Upon hearing this tragic news, NBA fans took to social media to pay tribute and emotionally honor Russell’s passing.

Fans will never forget his greatness, especially not in Boston, where he brought the franchise unparalleled success. His work as an activist and a human being will also always be remembered. It is truly a sad day for everyone that is a part of the community. May he rest in peace.
