On Twitter, this morning one might have noticed “Kendrick Perkins” trending. Rather than in response to the former-player-now-commentator and his hot takes, Twitter was reacting to an image that has been circulating, of James Harden during warm-ups looking a little different.
People could not help but compare Harden’s new heavy frame to that of former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kendrick Perkins. In his playing days, Perkins was listed at 270 lbs., which is 50 pounds more than what James Harden is listed at. Regardless, Twitter could not help itself and got the 36-year-old center trending with some hilarious posts.

At a time where drama and controversy seem to be plaguing Harden ever since requesting a trade, it was refreshing to see something funny for a change. The posts even caught the attention of Perkins himself, who responded to his alleged return to the NBA.
Yep I got a wig on.😑 https://t.co/9gF9X9vZs3

Harden has not been willing to talk to the media since asking to be traded away by the Houston Rockets. The former MVP also missed the first 2 preseason matchups the Rockets had with the Chicago Bulls. Last night was the first time Harden has played with his new teammate John Wall.
