NBA Fans React To A Rare Picture Of Kobe Bryant And Dennis Rodman Playing Together On The Lakers: “No One Saw This Pic Before Don’t Even Cap.”

Dennis Rodman had quite a career in the NBA. Rodman is considered one of the greatest defenders in the history of the NBA, and one of the all-time greats on the rebounding side of things as well. There is no denying that Rodman had his two most successful and popular stints in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls.

But fans will be shocked to hear that he had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. Following his former Bulls head coach Phil Jackson, Rodman joined the Los Angeles Lakers in the middle of the lockout-shortened 1998-99 NBA season. He only played about 23 games for them but got the chance to share the court with a player who would change the NBA forever; Kobe Bryant.

In the picture shared below by the Instagram page Timeless Sports, Dennis Rodman can be seen setting a screen (that some consider illegal by today’s standards) for a young Kobe Bryant during a Los Angeles Lakers game.

NBA fans reacted to this with amazement. Rodman’s stint was so brief with the Lakers that most fans don’t even remember it. Rodman was only there briefly and didn’t really impact winning for them in any way. But he was able to share the court with two of the best ever in Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.

No one saw this pic before don’t even cap lol

Screen would be a flagrant 2 nowadays – no

Rodman sold out so bad for the Lakers… showed up to practice 1 day without his shoes Lakers said, “you’re done here sir”

Remember watching this duo on K-Cal 9 as a kid major throwback

did he ever speak on how similar kobe was to jordan ?

Worm set a million screens for a million guys! He did it all! Guy was a WINNER on the basketball court! FACTS

BEST THING I’VE SEEN ALL DAY

He had no remorse he notorious for leaning in to on screens… probably why they out that rule in forreal

Rodman’s tenure in LA was brief, and it did almost nothing for his legacy. Rodman was very old during that time and had already achieved things most players could only dream of. A former Defensive Player Of The Year, and a 5-time NBA champion got the chance to add to his list of legendary teammates, a list that already included Michael Jordan.

Rodman would only play for one more team in his NBA career after the Lakers when he signed with the Dallas Mavericks. In fact, Rodman was banned by the NBA from wearing a number 69 jersey, but Mavs owner Mark Cuban still keeps it in his office to this day.
