After last night’s loss to the Miami Heat, the Lakers fell to 14-21 on the season and are now 13th in the West after showing some signs of life.
With Anthony Davis likely sidelined until mid-January at the earliest, it’s looking more and more like there’s nothing left for LeBron James to play for this season. After his team’s latest defeat, James himself admitted as much in the post-game press conference.
“I don’t wanna finish my career playing at this level from a team aspect,” said James after the game. “I still want to compete for championships. I know what I can bring to any ball club with the right pieces. I’m a winner and I want to win. And I want to win and give myself a chance to win and still compete for championships.”
So, where do the Lakers go from here? As much as the front office wants to act like everything’s okay, LeBron is done pretending like this team has a chance.
NBA Insider Details Where LeBron James Could End Up Next
Unfortunately, James is ineligible to be traded this season — so he’s stuck with who he’s got for now. But could LeBron end up on the move this summer?
If he does get moved, chances are it’ll be to one of the six teams laid out by NBA insider Sam Quinn.
Since LeBron trades are a topic tonight, here’s my two cents:
I think there are six non-Lakers teams he would be open to playing for: the Cavs, Heat, Warriors, Clippers, Knicks and Nets.
I don’t have trades but I think it would have to be one of those six teams.

We know that LeBron wants to play with his son, Bronny. And while he won’t have to wait much longer, there’s still a whole season and a half between now and when Bronny is able to declare for the Draft.
If LeBron decides to go for one last competitive run before he follows his son, what better place than his former team in Miami or with the championship-established Golden State Warriors?
For now, LeBron has to try and make things work in L.A. While things don’t look good so far, LeBron has never been one to give up hope, and nobody should be counting him out.
If the Lakers don’t get him some help soon, though, this era in their history may come to a disappointing end…
