Nick Wright took a shot at Michael Jordan in light of LeBron James’ scintillating season at 38.

James has been in pristine form since his birthday on December 30 last year and celebrated it in style by notching up a brace of 40+ points. His good run has been crucial in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ five-game winning streak.

Wright’s comments further add fuel to the already ongoing Jordan vs. James debate. He took to Twitter after James’ 37-point game against the Sacramento Kings, lauding him for his scoring prowess.

“In 4 games since turning 38 years old, LeBron James is averaging 38 points per game & is undefeated. Your GOAT could never.

“Literally. He tried.”

James has been on a tear this season, averaging 29.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. The last five games have seen him average 35.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. His scoring rate has been consistent and electric at best, prompting Wright to side with team James.

LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan At Age 38

Both James and Jordan have had contrasting careers at age 38. The latter was coming off a three-year hiatus back to basketball, while James has been playing consistently by each season.

Jordan signed with the Washington Wizards when he was 38 and was at the twilight of his career and 24.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. From a championship point of view, the Bulls legend had already won six titles with his former franchise, while James has had four.

The King has made no qualms that he’s keen to win another championship and has been pushing the front office to make some upgrades to the present roster to give the team and him their best chances of winning another title.

On a milestone front, he’s less than 500 points away from surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading points scorer in league history but has maintained his stance that it’s the title that he’s gunning for. Only time will tell if he can indeed tie with Jordan for six titles.
