Nikola Jokic Warned Jamal Murray Not To Rush Return: "I Told Jamal, If You're Not 100% Ready, Don't Come Back. It's Stupid."

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, when healthy, are one of the best duos in the league. They have already been in the Western Conference Finals, and there is no doubt that they make the Denver Nuggets a contending team when on the court together.

This season, the Denver Nuggets have been without Jamal Murray, as he has been recovering from a Torn ACL. However, there has been some speculation about him potentially returning this season, with teammate Monte Morris recently stating that Murray is "ready to get back out there". Sean Keeler of The Denver Post relayed the news.

“His mental (acumen) is there,” Morris said Friday. “He’s ready to get back out there. He’s looked good. He’s dunking and everything, (with) both legs. It’s a matter of time, I guess, but hopefully we can get him back.”

While it definitely would be nice for the Denver Nuggets to have Jamal Murray back in time for the postseason, the priority is definitely Murray's health and long-term contention. Nikola Jokic has recently revealed that he told Jamal Murray that he shouldn't get back on the court unless he's 100% healthy.

"I told Jamal, if you're not 100% ready, don't come back. It's stupid."

There's no doubt that the Denver Nuggets have done relatively fine without Jamal Murray this season, as they are currently the 6th seed in the Western Conference under Nikola Jokic's leadership. Nikola Jokic has notably been included in MVP talks this season, as he has been performing at an astounding level. Currently, Nikola Jokic is averaging 26.6 PPG, 13.6 RPG, and 8.0 APG.

Hopefully, we do end up seeing a fully healthy Jamal Murray return to the court this season. He is an electric scoring guard that could help lessen the offensive load on Nikola Jokic, and having him back would make the Nuggets a dangerous team in the playoffs.
