The Lakers might have just had one of their most impressive wins of the season with the team overcoming a massive deficit of over 20 points to beat the Portland Trail Blazers in Portland. While the win was courtesy of big nights from LeBron James and Thomas Bryant, Patrick Beverley was one of the most avid celebrators of the win.

Beverley had a pretty rough interaction with Damian Lillard earlier in the game, as Dame openly threatened to beat Bev up after Bev received a technical foul. That technical foul allowed the Blazers to go on a massive run and take their lead but a second-half collapse led to PatBev tinkering with an imaginary broken watch before throwing it away, mocking Lillard’s ‘Dame Time’ celebration.

Beverley didn’t do much on the court, scoring only 4 points and acting like a defensive pest whenever he was playing. His contributions were important but this win was mainly because of the incredible performances of the other players on the roster.

Are We Nearing The End For Damian Lillard In Portland?

The Trail Blazers made a new team this offseason that was supposed to bring Lillard back into contention with the best teams in the conference. Despite making moves to acquire Jerami Grant and drafting Shaedon Sharpe, the Blazers are now the 13th seed in the West and aren’t looking impressive.

The Blazers are long overdue for a rebuild. with players like Grant nearing free agency, maybe it’s time for the team to just let young players like Anfernee Simons and Sharpe hoop while valuable assets like Jusuf Nurkic, Josh Hart, and mainly, Damian Lillard are moved on. Everyone did everything they could, but this team just doesn’t have the pieces to surround Lillard for a title run.
