The Brooklyn Nets pulled off an extremely impressive win over the Golden State Warriors even with the Warriors playing at home and being fully healthy with all their core rotational players available. A 39-point night by Kyrie Irving put the Nets over the top as they overcame a double-digit points deficit to get this crucial win.

The Warriors’ struggles continue to hamper their season while Kyrie Irving is proving he can lead the Nets even after an 0-4 run after Kevin Durant went down with an injury. Fans were stunned to see the Warriors’ struggles continue, especially at home against a depleted Nets team.

The game ended 110-106 in Brooklyn’s favor and has made the Warriors’ record fall below .500 once again, as they now sit 23-24 in the West. The Nets are hoping to reclaim the No. 2 seed they had in the East prior to KD’s injury but still are a game behind the Philadelphia 76ers, while tied with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Can Kyrie Irving Carry The Nets?

Kyrie Irving is in a contract year and hoping to secure as much money as he can in the offseason. The Nets refused to give him a full-length max contract in the summer but might be forced to give him the contract if he keeps playing like this. Irving was playing really well as a complementary piece alongside KD and such fits won’t necessarily be available on the market either.

Irving has the ability to take the Nets far with his incredible offensive arsenal. Basketball is a team sport, so Irving needs to be able to extract the maximum value he can from his teammates. The team has found a rhythm without KD right now and will hope to make it last until the 7-foot sniper returns.
