Russell Westbrook is ready to join the Los Angeles Lakers after a couple of rocky tenures with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards. The point guard wants to win, and the Wizards put him in a terrific position to do so.

He’s joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the purple and gold, creating another Big 3 in the league. Russ is ready to get that NBA ring, and he can’t be happier about it. After the news of his trade saw the light, Westbrook took to Instagram to share his excitement with the public.

The 2017 NBA MVP posted an edit of himself in the middle of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

“The city is lit!!! This is crazy,” Russ wrote on the story.

This will be Westbrook’s third team in the association since he left the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019. Things didn’t click for him in Houston and Washington, so it’s time for Russ to get a new role and help the Lakers win after a tough 2020/21 season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski (via Harrison Faigen), Brodie was really interested in the idea of joining the Lakers. Now that his wish was granted, the point guard is ready to make some noise and bring a championship alongside two of the best players in the world.

Although some fans started making jokes about Westbrook and LeBron trying to record a triple-double simultaneously, this trio is looking dangerous ahead of next season.

LeBron can’t wait to play alongside Brodie and AD next year, and Lakers fans are really excited for the team’s future. They landed a big name while getting rid of the players they didn’t like last season, so this was a big win for them.
