Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is busy through the season being the centerpiece of the young Oklahoma City Thunder and the primary building block on the team. The team is building a solid young core around him with the latest addition of Chet Holmgren into the mix. The dynamic duo alongside Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, and others are a lock to be scary in the future.

The offseason has been a nice time for Shai after the Thunder’s season ended with the regular season. He has been focusing on his non-basketball projects a lot in his time off, including becoming a model.

Shai was on the runway during the Paris Fashion Week for designer Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer 2023 line-up. This was the young guard’s debut on the runway and has been received well in the fashion community.

The ever-fashionable Oklahoma City Thunder point-guard made a statement on his runway debut as the basketball star wore ‘Look 3’ of Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer 2023 line-up, rocking low-rise black tartan-style trousers, a matching longline pinstripe blazer, a cropped shirt with a black bow tie, as well as a signature Thom Browne Hector dog bag. Completing the look, a Thom Browne anchor logo face feature rounded out the monochromatic ensemble. (h/t PauseMag)

Shai had this to say about his runway experience to Vogue, “It was a dream come true. Talk about a fashion week finale! My new nickname is Runway Shai,”

This isn’t Shai’s first exploit into fashion. He was chosen by late designer Virgil Abloh to be the face of the NBA X Louis Vuitton collaboration. The Canadian guard also attended other shows through the weekend for brands like Kenzo and Givenchy.

The guard is expanding well outside basketball and could genuinely be a model, with his reputation as a basketball player helping him further expand his profile in that world as well.
