Shaquille O’Neal Sends Challenge To LeBron James, Dwyane Wade For Father-Son Tournament: “Set It Up.”

Generally speaking, there’s a decent amount of current and former NBA players with kids that also play basketball. A lot of kids who are the children of famous players garner a lot of attention early in their careers before they even make the NBA.

Bronny James, Zaire Wade, and Shareef O’Neal are all the sons of NBA legends. They have all recently been featured on a father-son duo graphic, next to their fathers LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Shaquille O’Neal. The graphic asked the viewers to respond with which duo they would take in a 2v2 tournament.

Shaquille O’Neal shared the graphic on his account and sent out a challenge to Dwyane Wade and LeBron James about the tournament, asking Instagram page The Best Highlights (who created the graphic) to “set it up”, while also stating that he and his sons weren’t scared. It definitely looks as though Shaquille O’Neal likes the chances of him and his sons winning a potential tournament, and there’s no shortage of confidence there.

Obviously, it would be interesting to see a tournament featuring these NBA legends and their sons.  The O’Neal’s would definitely have at least one thing over the other duos, simply due to Shaquille O’Neal having a size advantage over anyone else in the competition. LeBron James is still playing at a very high level in the league though, so the O’Neal’s could face some problems there. Regardless of who wins in this hypothetical scenario though, this would be something many fans tune into.

A 2v2 tournament featuring prominent legends and their sons could be an interesting idea, and perhaps someone will take on the audacious venture of setting up a tournament based around this concept in the future. As of now though, we’ll have to settle for watching other types of basketball.
