Skip Bayless Wonders If It Is Possible That Andrew Wiggins Wins The NBA Finals MVP Award Over Stephen Curry Like Andre Iguodala Did In 2015

3 Min Read

Stephen Curry has been in the league since 2009 and over the course of his career has won several accolades. Be it due to his individual brilliance or simply helping the Golden State Warriors win NBA Championships, Curry has played a crucial role in all of them.

Despite having such a great resume, there is one trophy that even the greatest shooter of all-time has failed to win. Yes, we are talking about the NBA Finals MVP award. Although Curry has won three NBA Championships in his career, he is yet to be named the NBA Finals MVP.

Steph has the perfect chance to get that honor in the 2022 NBA Finals. Since Kevin Durant is no longer a part of the team, Steph is the unanimous best player for the Warriors.

Additionally, he has been playing like one too, well, at least for most of the series. The only underwhelming game that Steph had was Game 5 of the series. The Dubs ended up winning it, but it wasn’t Curry who deserved the credit for it.

It was Andrew Wiggins who had a sensational offensive game, in addition to maintaining his usual defensive flair. The game by Wiggins has given fans a few flashbacks from the 2015 NBA Finals.

In the 2015 NBA Finals, Steph was having. a good series, but due to the fact that Andre Iguodala did a decent enough job of defending LeBron James, he was given that award. Now, NBA analyst Skip Bayless has pointed out that maybe history will repeat itself and Wiggs will do the same. This will result in Curry being robbed of a chance at winning an NBA Finals MVP once again.

“Wait a second: Is it possible Andrew Wiggins is going to pull a 2015 Iggy and win Finals MVP out from under Steph?”

No, no, a thousand times no. In the 2022 NBA Finals, Steph has been playing sensationally and without a doubt deserves to win the NBA Finals MVP.

If the Dubs win the finals, and Steph is given that honor, it will be considered one of the biggest robberies in the history of the NBA. Let’s hope the league does what’s right in this situation.
