Stephen Curry Had A Hilarious Response When Asked If Charles Barkley Can Finish In The Top 70 Of A Celebrity Golf Tournament: “As Much Faith As Chuck Has Had In The Warriors, That’s The Least Amount Of Faith I Have In Him.”

Charles Barkley was an incredible basketball player, and he might well be even better on television as a part of ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT, but there is one area where Sir Charles falls flat, and that is golf. Barkley is a notoriously poor golfer, but that hasn’t stopped him from being very invested in playing the sport.

During the Western Conference Finals, Barkley stated that he couldn’t care who wins the series as he just wanted it to get over so he can get to playing golf and fish every day. He seems to be doing just that, too, as Barkley has entered the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, and he has set a bet on himself of finishing in the top 70. Stephen Curry also happens to be a part of the tournament, and he had a hilarious response when asked if Chuck would be able to accomplish it.

“No, hell no. Clip that, send it to him, let him play it on every tee box. There’s no way he’s doing it. As much faith as Chuck has had in the Warriors and jump-shooting teams winning championships, that’s the least amount of faith I have in him hitting the Top 70.”

That’s a fun, light-hearted shot fired there, as Barkley has long been a doubter of the Warriors and their style of play. He picked against them all postseason, too, and went at Warriors fans as well, calling them annoying. The Dubs did end up winning it all, of course, but we doubt Barkley changes his opinion on them when the playoffs roll around next year.

He’d be hoping for a change on the golf course this year, however, after all his past failings and it will be interesting to see how he fares here. As for Steph, he is going to be just fine, having finished in the top 5 on three previous occasions.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
