Andrew Wiggins is a player that has been criticized throughout his career, as may believe he hasn’t lived up to his status as the #1 pick. While that may be true, Andrew Wiggins is not a bad basketball player by any means, and he has taken on a two-way role this season, playing lockdown defense on the perimeter while being the second option behind Stephen Curry.

While Andrew Wiggins has made an improvement on both ends, he still has his critics. The Golden State Warriors are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference, despite Wiggins having a career-best season in terms of efficiency and 3PT percentage (38.0%). Stephen A. Smith has even stated that he’d give Wiggins away for a “box of cookies”.

Warriors Coach Steve Kerr clearly disagrees with Smith’s position. Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle has detailed Kerr’s view on Wiggins with the Warriors. Kerr stated that the Warriors are happy with Wiggins and that he has been a great fit for the franchise.

We’re very much thrilled to have him here. It’s been a good fit, and that’s kind of how the NBA goes for a lot of players. I think this is a very natural progression for a guy like Andrew, where he finds a better fit than his first team, and there’s nothing out of the ordinary about that. I think he’s happy. I know we’re happy.”

Andrew Wiggins is thriving in his role with the Golden State Warriors, and it seems that Steve Kerr is happy with how he has worked within the Golden State Warriors system. Andrew Wiggins has been a good player for the Golden State Warriors, and it looks like they like what he’s doing on the court.
