NBA Executives ‘Looking Closely’ To Karl-Anthony Towns’ Situation In Minnesota: “The ‘KAT Wanting To Be Elsewhere’ Chatter Increased Drastically Over The Year.”

Karl-Anthony Towns’ time with the Minnesota Timberwolves could be reaching its end if the team doesn’t show real intentions of pairing him with the right players to compete in the Western Conference.

KAT has been in the league for six years now and he hasn’t taken this team where he was expect to lead it when he was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Last year they traded for D’Angelo Russell and drafted Anthony Edwards with the first overall pick but they have struggled again to find their rhythm in the stacked Western Conference. 

This could become a big problem for KAT, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report. The team isn’t competing and he’s just gotten one playoffs win during his six-year stint in Minny, which is anything but good for him. 

Half of the league is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Will Towns force his way out of Minnesota this offseason?

Several league sources have indicated their teams are looking closely at the Timberwolves’ future. One noted: “The ‘KAT wanting to be elsewhere’ chatter increased drastically over the year.”

Towns has a single playoff win on his resume (a game, not a series) in his six NBA seasons.

This is a very curious situation for the team. They are having a 4-game winning streak right now but it’s too late for them to aspire to compete for a spot in the play-in tournament at the end of the second season. 

Anthony Edwards is looking like a future star with the T-Wolves but perhaps KAT won’t have the patience to watch his teammate develop until he can compete for a championship. Time will tell how this situations ends up but this is how other stars felt before requesting a trade from their
