The Portland Trail Blazers Have Launched An Investigation Into GM Neil Olshey For Workplace Misconduct

Neil Olshey

The Portland Trail Blazers are 4-5 currently, and it hasn't been the best of starts for Damian Lillard and the franchise. On top of what's going on with the team on the court, it seems as though there are some off-court issues that the franchise needs to sort out.

Shams Charania of The Athletic has revealed that the Portland Trail Blazers are now investigating GM Neil Olshey for "alleged workplace misconduct", hiring a firm to do so. Charania also reported that "at least one" employee from the organization has reported that misconduct. There has been no comment from the team or Jody Allen on the matter thus far, though it is possible that the Trail Blazers will make a statement later on.

The Portland Trail Blazers and owner Jody Allen have launched an investigation into president of basketball operations and general manager Neil Olshey, The Athletic has learned. The team is hiring a firm to probe alleged workplace misconduct.

At least one Portland employee has reported potential misconduct that sparked an investigation into Olshey, multiple sources said.

When contacted about the investigation on Friday night, the Trail Blazers told The Athletic: "We don't have a comment on this matter at this time." Allen also declined to comment to The Athletic on Friday night.

That's not the only investigation that is ongoing in the league right now, and it was previously revealed that Suns owner Robert Sarver is also going through an investigation from the league itself. Hopefully, both investigations yield informational results that illuminate the respective situations.

It remains to be seen what kind of "workplace misconduct has been committed by Neil Olshey, or whether it did end up happening. However, this situation is certainly something to keep an eye on, and perhaps we'll receive more news on this matter in the future.
