The 2020/21 NBA season marks the 75th campaign for the league. In almost 80 years of history, we’ve seen countless memorable moments from incredible players. Big plays, flashy shots, and clutch moments have marked the history of the competition and will never be forgotten by fans.

With 75 years of existence, the league has had plenty of these moments. That’s why TNT decided to recreate a series of iconic pictures and gave them a twist, making a big crossover between old glories and today’s league’s stars.

A series of pics were recreated by modern-day stars, including Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, LaMelo Ball and more. Even though the making-of video is unavailable right now, Hoops Nation shared the pics on Instagram.

Kevin Durant recreated George Gervin’s finger roll shot while Kawhi Leonard became Dr. J when he made that incredible baseline scoop in the Finals. Damian Lillard and Zach LaVine recreated Michael Jordan in two unforgettable moments: the legendary ‘last shot’ against the Utah Jazz in 1998 and the free-throw line dunk, respectively.

Donovan Mitchell appeared as his idol Dwyane Wade, LaMelo Ball recreated Magic Johnson’s iconic assists, and Rudy Gobert was Bill Russell grabbing a rebound. DeMar DeRozan appeared as Clyde Drexler dunking the ball with two hands.

Two pictures that had a big meaning involved Trae Young and Jayson Tatum. The Atlanta Hawks star was Reggie Miller sinking a big shot over John Starks of the New York Knicks. Trae earned the hate of New York fans last season after he embraced his role as the villain at the Madison Square Garden.

As for Tatum, the Boston Celtics young star wore the Lakers jersey, recreating Kobe Bryant’s famous game-winning shot over Dwyane Wade. Bryant was Tatum’s idol growing up, and he’s consistently demonstrated his love and admiration for the late icon.

Other names on this list include Chris Paul as Bob Cousy and Draymond Green as Dennis Rodman. TNT really went out and put together all these stars celebrating old glories that left a huge mark on the game. In 25 more years, perhaps the new generations will recreate pics from incredible players from these players.
