NBA Rumors: Brooklyn Nets Are Favorite To Land Bradley Beal This Offseason

Bradley Beal is one of the best players in the league. He’s not getting the attention, praise, and recognition he deserves because of how poorly the Washington Wizards have fared lately. It almost feels as if most people are punishing for staying loyal to a bad team.

Beal has balled his heart out from the start of the season. Thus far, he’s averaging 30.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, and 1.2 steals per game on 45/35/84 shooting, yet he didn’t make the All-Star Game.

That’s why some people think that Beal would eventually want to force his way out of the nation’s capital, even despite the fact that he recently signed a huge contract extension with them. If that were to happen, it seems like the Brooklyn Nets would be the team to watch, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst:

“These two teams, Washington and Brooklyn, are kinda priming up, lining up for a possible trade. I don’t think Washington’s ready to trade Bradley Beal, but if they get to that point, Brooklyn is a team that is in the hunt there,” Windhorst claimed in Zach Lowe’s podcast.

Windhorst added that’s a ‘poorly-kept secret’ that the Nets want to add a third star this offseason and Bradley Beal has already been tied in trade rumors with them. As per his report, the Nets would try and send Jarrett Allen to fix the Wizards’ huge rim protection issues:

“And, hey if your Brooklyn, I would want to make sure Jarrett Allen looks pretty damn good against (Washington). And if you play ’em in a play-in series feed Jarrett Allen the ball. Feed Jarrett Allen the ball,” he added.

Even so, Zach Lowe added that he doesn’t feel like the Wizards are planning on moving Beal any time soon, as John Wall has been looking great during his rehab process and he’s getting closer to a return. Apparently, the Wizards still feel like they can compete with their backcourt:

“John Wall has been seen working out and looking good. I think the Wizards do have an interest in seeing how that group looks next season,” he concluded.

We’ve seen this story over and over. If the Wizards continue to underperform, Beal would be wise to try and force his way out of the team and finally start playing for a Championship.
