NBA Rumors: Celtics, Suns And Raptors Are Interested In Danilo Gallinari

2 Min Read

As one of the players moved in the infamous Paul George deal, Danilo Gallinari has yet to find a long-term home in the NBA.

Stints in New York, Denver, Los Angeles, and (now) Oklahoma City, it seems Galo has always been used as a pawn for teams to acquire someone better than him. This season, however, the tables have turned.

Galo makes for a valuable asset in today’s NBA, and multiple teams reportedly have interest in acquiring him ahead of February’s trade deadline. His home in OKC is unlikely to be a long-term arrangement, and it seems at least three teams could be the next in line to host Italian big man.

(per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report)

Gallinari is being pursued by several teams, including the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors. He’s in the final year of his contract at $22.6 million, and Boston would need to send out at least $17.6 million to match Gallinari’s salary. The C’s would need to trade out at least $21.6 million to land Drummond.

Gallinari is an offensive specialist who can create his own shot and stretch the floor at the forward position.

With season averages of 18 points and 5.8 rebounds on 39% shooting from downtown, he’d make an ideal fit in Toronto, Boston, and Phoenix.

He is one of the few stretch bigs available on the trade market, so expect his name to be a repeated topic as February’s deadline nears.
