NBA Rumors: Evan Fournier Reportedly Trying To Find A Way To Suns, Clippers Or Nuggets

3 Min Read

Evan Fournier has been seen as a big player for a team like the Orlando Magic and the French swingman is reportedly trying to find his way out of the Magic and land in a contender or a team on the way to become one. According to Zach Harper of The Athletic, Fournier is focused on three teams and all of them have big expectations entering the 2020/21 NBA season.

“League sources say Evan Fournier is trying to find his way to a team like the Clippers, Suns or Nuggets.”

Fournier is a very talented player, who can shoot the ball and score with ease and would be a nice addition to any of these three teams. It’s unclear where the Magic are going right now and Fournier is ready to leave the nest and find another team where he can play for more important things.

The Suns just landed Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder and are seen as one of the animators for the next season. Fournier would give them more firepower and depth.

The Clippers have been linked with several players in recent times and even though they’re looking for a playmaker more than a scorer, Fournier could help them as the third scoring option behind Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

The Denver Nuggets have become a team famous to land international players and Evan fits that description perfectly. He could join the Nuggets this season and create some trouble alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Last season, Fournier averaged 18.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game with the Magic, shooting 46.7% from the field and 39.9% from deep.

It’ll be interesting to see how this whole thing develops. Recent rumors regarding Fournier said that he is expected to pick up his $17.0 million player option for the 2020-21 season and that would create a problem for any of these teams. He would be good for any of these three, but it’s not like any of them are dying to sign a player of his style.
