NBA Rumors: Mike Brown Emerging As Strong Candidate For Clippers Head Coach Job

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Clippers parted ways with Doc Clippers at the end of September following a very disappointing season with the Los Angelenos team. Rivers is now the new Philadelphia 76ers head coach while the Clippers are still looking for their new helmsman to make the right moves to improve their level and finally get past the second round of the playoffs.

Even though Tyronn Lue was seen as the early favorite to take over the Clippers, now things are starting to look a little different for the Clips. According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Golden State Warriors’ assistant coach Mike Brown made a good impression during his interview with the Clippers and now is considered a front runner to get the job at the Staples Center.

“Latest buzz in NBA coaching circles: Golden State’s Mike Brown made a strong impression on the Clippers in his interview and is an emerging candidate with LA.

Ty Lue, scheduled to meet with Houston early next week, was widely billed as the early favorite to succeed Doc Rivers,” Stein wrote on Twitter.

Alongside Lue, Stan Van Gundy was seeing as a good candidate for the job but the Clips might be looking in a different direction now. Brown has been good working with Steve Kerr in Golden State and some people could think it’s time for him to be the head coach of another NBA franchise.
