The New York Knicks have long searched for their next great franchise superstar. And even with as good as guys like Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle have been for them all year, the Knicks will need more if they want to bring a title to the Big Apple.
A guy like Giannis Antetojounmpo, a 2x MVP and NBA champion, would certainly fit the ball as an alpha for the Knicks and could enjoy prosperity with the Orange and Blue.

New Yorkers are no doubt happy with the crew they’ve got now. While there isn’t a top 5 player on the roster, the combined talent of Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson, Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, and others has made the Knicks rich with depth and it’s gotten them to the second round of the playoffs.
Even still, their ambitions go higher than round two and GM Leon Rose seems poised to make the kind of trade that would put his team over the top.
“In my view, they can trade for two star-level players if they needed to,” reported Brian Windhorst earlier this season. “It doesn’t mean they’d have to do those deals in the summer of ’23. Those deals can be made within the 23-24 season, they can be in ’24. But they can hold in my opinion, they can hold Jalen Brunson, they can hold Julius Randle, and they can make two want trades.”
With any Knicks trade, the talks begin and end with RJ Barrett, who is proving his worth in this year’s playoffs. if the Knicks are willing to part with him, and anyone not named Jalen Brunson, it might only be a matter of time before the Knicks become home to a true NBA superstar.
