Whether they like it or not, the Brooklyn Nets have found themselves at the center of attention over the last year or so. Coming into last season, many had them as the favorites to win the championship, but they spectacularly fell apart, as James Harden ended up leaving the team while Kyrie Irving’s antics caused headaches behind the scenes.

Now, Kevin Durant has requested a trade, but it has been over a month since he did that, and no team has been able to put together a package good enough to land KD. The latest team to try it was the Boston Celtics, as they had an offer centered around Jaylen Brown rejected immediately by the Nets.

News of that offer being leaked caused issues for the Celtics with Brown not happy to hear that he was potentially being shipped out of town and it seems teams around the league also aren’t happy that trade conversations with the Nets are being leaked by them to the media. A league executive spoke about that with Steve Bulpett.

via Heavy:

“I think there’s some teams that aren’t very happy that when they talk to Brooklyn it gets in the papers. That doesn’t help. I’ve talked with a couple of teams that are not happy with the rumors that creep out of there through all this. It’s not a good way to do business.”

While the Nets probably put it out there to make other suitors step up with their offers for Durant, it’s not surprising that teams around the league aren’t too pleased with this kind of stuff being leaked to the media. It damages the relationship they have with their players if the trade doesn’t materialize, as it did for the Celtics here.

As for Durant’s future, this report also indicated that he is set to meet with team owner Joe Tsai this week and perhaps something will come out of that meeting that will give an idea of where this saga is headed.
