The Milwaukee Bucks officially let go of head coach Mike Budenholzer this month after a disappointing finish in the Eastern Conference playoffs. And now that the dust on that decision has settled, they have reportedly chosen the man to replace him: Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin, who has never performed this role before.

To say the pressure is on for Griffin would be an understatement, but it’s also important to note the pressure that’s on the organization as well to get the team back on track. According to what one NBA source told Landon Buford, Giannis isn’t totally against a split from the Bucks in the future, and the word on the street is that he’d be keen to join the three main California franchises: the Lakers, Clippers, and Golden State Warriors.

“[Giannis] already has a championship, he doesn’t owe Milwaukee anything, he’s a global brand, and if he decides to leave Milwaukee the three teams that he could consider in no particular order, the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors. With that new arena [The Intuit Dome], the Clippers could become the number one destination in the NBA. For years to come. Can you imagine Giannis Antetokounmpo playing with Steph Curry in the back end of his career? Can you imagine Giannis playing in the Intuit Dome with the Clippers, Steve Ballmer, and all he can offer? Finally, can you imagine George Mikan, Shaq, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and possibly adding Giannis Antetokounmpo to the list of legendary big men with the Lakers? It’s a match made in heaven.”

The Milwaukee Bucks hiring Adrian Griffin as their next head coach is a clear path for Giannis Antetokounmpo to entertain free agency in the state of California before the 2025-26 season [He has a Player Option] , says an NBA Source.

It should be mentioned that Giannis has preached nothing but loyalty to the Bucks and the city of Milwaukee, so nobody should be expecting him to ask for a trade tomorrow. But after such an embarrassing performance this year, the Bucks really need a more successful run if they want to put the rumors to rest for good.

Either way, when it comes to the Greek Freak, the entire NBA world will be watching to see what happens next.

Giannis Would Shift The Balance Of Power In The West

An NBA champion and 2x MVP, Antetokounmpo is a game-changing player that makes any team he’s on an instant contender for the title. Whether it’s the Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, or any other team, Giannis’ arrival would come with great expectations.

Of course, Giannis isn’t a free agent right now so this scenario is still just a long shot. All we can do is wait and see how it all plays out, but the timer starts now for the Bucks…
