NBA Trade Rumors: Nets Could Acquire LaMarcus Aldridge For Dinwiddie, Allen And Prince

2 Min Read

According to a report earlier this week by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets are on the hunt for another star.

And while nobody knows who they might bring in, a newly proposed deal could help them land 7x All-Star, LaMarcus Aldridge. Here is the deal could work, per Bleacher Report‘s Greg Swartz.

“The Spurs need to be proactive and get something for Aldridge while he’s still playing at a high level,” Swartz added.

Aldridge would give Brooklyn a big with plenty of playoff experience and the ability to play both power forward and center. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 18.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 blocks this season, and he has finally become a reliable outside shooter, making 1.2 of his 3.0 attempts (38.9 percent) per game.”

Aldridge is on the wrong side of 30 and leaves much to be desired on the defensive end. But alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, he could thrive.

As one of the best mid-range jump shooters in the league, he’d bolster the Nets offense and allow for some additional scoring outside of the two main stars.

This season, he’s averaging 18.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in his fifth season for the Spurs. With the hunger, experience, and drive to win a Chip, he could be the piece Brooklyn needs to put them over the top.
