NBA Rumors: Nets Want To Trade For Bradley Beal

2 Min Read

The Brooklyn Nets hit the jackpot when they acquired Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant last summer. But their aspirations to acquire a third star are no secret to anyone who has been paying attention.

No trades are imminent at the moment, but the Nets may already have eyes on their next target. Here’s the report, by the New York Daily news.

Immersed in their championship window, the Brooklyn Nets are in the market for a third star and have internally discussed avenues of acquiring Wizards guard Bradley Beal, the Daily News has learned.

It’s unclear whether Beal will become available, though his circumstances have prompted speculation. The two-way guard is among the league’s highest-paid players and on a Wizards team with a low ceiling. He signed a two-year, $72 million extension last year that quelled trade rumors but Washinton (24-40) is again lottery-bound.

Bradley Beal is one of the best young scorers in the league, especially from beyond the arc. Before the NBA’s hiatus, he was averaging 30.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game on 45% shooting.

It will likely take a combination of players and picks to get the job done but Beal would be an ideal fit next to Durant and Irving. If Washington decides to trade him and start over, you can expect the Wizards to be in leading contention for his services.
