NBA Rumors: Bradley Beal And Luka Doncic Could Create A Deadly Backcourt On Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks could create a lethal duo with Bradley Beal and Luka Doncic, but the price to pay might be too high.

The Dallas Mavericks have been mentioned in trade rumors in recent weeks, given their current moment, where they’re struggling to get things going, and Luka Doncic appears to be having enough of this situation.

The Kemba Walker addition looked solid after the veteran point guard made his debut on Saturday night, dropping 34 points on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a thriller. Even though they lost that game, the Mavs are confident that they can turn things around and Walker can make a big impact on them.

However, this wouldn’t be the only move they can make to improve their level. The team’s roster isn’t good enough to help Luka take them to the NBA Finals, and many fans have urged them to bring the right pieces to maximize Luka’s abilities.

Having Bradley Beal And Luka Doncic Is A Possibility For Mavs

After the Kemba move, they can add another All-Star, and according to a proposed trade, they could land one of the best scorers in the league to play with the Slovenian superstar. It won’t be easy, but the Mavs can make a blockbuster move that could shake up the Western Conference. Dalton Trigg of Sports Illustrated suggests a trade that would bring Bradley Beal to Dallas.

If this is the year Beal finally has enough and demands a trade, the Mavs should try to do business with the Wizards yet again after swapping Kristaps Porzingis for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dāvis Bertans at last season’s trade deadline. The Mavs are somewhat limited on draft capital that can be included in trades until the offseason, but here’s a trade scenario that could at least be considered:

Mavs receive: Bradley Beal, Daniel Gafford

Wizards receive: Christian Wood, Tim Hardaway Jr., Dwight Powell, Jaden Hardy, two future first-round picks and two future first-round pick swaps

This appears to be a huge return for the Mavericks, but they would be getting a player who competed for the scoring title not so long ago. Beal, just like Luka, needs to be in the right position to compete for a championship. Doncic has shown that he’s capable of taking the Mavs deep in the playoffs, but there’s only so much he can do.

Perhaps a tandem with Beal would be enough to reach the Finals, but it remains to be seen if the Texans are interested in this move and how much they’re willing to give to get Beal.
