NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Could Acquire Bradley Beal For A Massive Trade Package

The Golden State Warriors look to be back in the playoffs next season with Klay Thompson’s return to the lineup. However, it is possible that they will need some immediate help on the offensive end, as Klay Thompson will likely be eased back into the lineup. Making a win-now move could be beneficial for them, as they could create yet another super team during Stephen Curry’s prime.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report has recently posted some trade packages for some of the top trade targets in the league. One of the packages featured Bradley Beal moving to the Golden State Warriors, in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, an assortment of future picks, and 2021 lottery selections Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

Golden State Warriors Receive: Bradley Beal

Washington Wizards Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, a 2022 first-round pick, a 2023 first-round pick swap, and a 2026 first-round pick

Bradley Beal would certainly improve the Golden State Warriors from a talent standpoint, and he would definitely help take away some of the offensive load from Stephen Curry. For the Wizards’ end of the deal, Bailey revealed that if Bradley Beal were to ask for a trade, adding Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody to their young core could be “intriguing”.

But if a few dominoes fall in the right direction, including Beal or Lillard actually asking for trades, the Warriors could throw their hats in the ring. And fortunately for them, recent draft picks Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga have both looked solid in Summer League. That may not mean a ton, but it also doesn’t mean nothing.

Again, if Beal asks out, the idea of adding Kuminga and Moody to a young core that includes Rui Hachimura, Thomas Bryant, Deni Avdija and Kyle Kuzma could be intriguing.

For the Warriors, the appeal is obvious. That much young talent and draft consideration is a lot, but Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all between 33 and 31 years old. If this core is going to make another go at legitimate contention, it has to happen now. And Beal raises the ceiling much quicker than Moody or Kuminga will.

Golden State would be undersized and have plenty of defensive limitations, but the firepower of a 1-3 trio made up of Curry, Beal and Thompson would be nearly impossible to stop.

There is no question that Bradley Beal would make the Warriors better, and make them one of the best offensive basketball teams in the league. However, he hasn’t asked out of the Washington Wizards yet, and it is possible that he’ll just elect to stay with the Washington Wizards. However, if Bradley Beal is ever made available, it looks as though the Golden State Warriors could become one of the suitors for the electric shooting guard.
