The Los Angeles Lakers are surveying the trade market to see who they can add to their roster to solidify their playoff push. They’ve already made a strong move by acquiring Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards, but they clearly need more.

The larger roster deficiencies were highlighted in the Lakers’ loss to the Clippers, where everybody not named LeBron James had a less than ideal performance in the loss. Rob Pelinka has already hinted that the team is looking at making more moves, so fans on Reddit are making a list of players they would like to see become Lakers.

The four options that Redditor u/from2025 presented were DeMar DeRozan, Bojan Bogdanovic, Gary Trent Jr., and Myles Turner. Fans reacted in a multitude of ways to the question.

At this point, any of those 4 players would vastly improve the Lakers’ outlook this season. DeRozan might not be on the market given the resurgence of the Chicago Bulls, and the Lakers seemed to have moved on from the need for Myles Turner after Thomas Bryant’s increase in productivity. Bojan Bogdanovic and Gary Trent Jr. are probably the most likely targets, but only if the Lakers don’t have to give up a future first round pick to get either of them.

Who’s The Best Fit For LA?

DeRozan and Turner are not ideal fits, as Turner will crowd up the big-man rotation, which should be Anthony Davis and Thomas Bryant. DeRozan’s mid-range heavy playstyle might not gel well with this Lakers’ roster that desperately needs outside shooters.

Trent Jr. and Bogdanovic are snipers and can be relied on to play defense in certain moments. Bogdanvoci’s age and long contract should worry the Lakers, while GTJ suffers from the inconsistencies that an average 3-and-D player does. The Pistons want a first-round pick for Bojan, so that might not be in the Lakers’ cards, leaving Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. as the most realistic option.
