Myles Turner is one of the best defensive big men in basketball, and he is currently averaging 16.9 PPG, 7.8 RPG, and 2.2 BPG for the Indiana Pacers. Turner’s skill set is extremely valuable in the modern NBA, as he is a player that is capable of both protecting the rim and shooting 3PT shots from the perimeter. In some ways, he is the perfect modern center.

This year, we have seen Myles Turner featured in a variety of trade rumors. He has frequently been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers, and it is clear that the team has had a longstanding interest in trading for him.

We have a trade scenario that would send Myles Turner to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn, and a future first-round pick. There’s no doubt that this trade could potentially be beneficial for both sides.

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers Receive: Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL

This deal could potentially benefit the Los Angeles Lakers while Anthony Davis is out, as Myles Turner is a player that could anchor the team’s defense and carry some of the offensive load next to LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. For the Indiana Pacers, this is about getting two expiring contracts and future draft compensation. The Lakers get a win-now player, while the Pacers get a draft pick in return for giving up their veteran.

It remains to be seen if the Los Angeles Lakers and the Indiana Pacers will come together on a deal with this framework. This seems like a fair proposition, and perhaps we’ll hear about a similar deal in the future.

The Los Angeles Lakers Have Also Been Linked To Center Mo Bamba

Myles Turner is far from the only trade target for the Los Angeles Lakers, and it seems as though the team is also looking at other ways to bolster its frontcourt. A recent report suggested that they could also look at Orlando Magic center Mo Bamba as a trade option.

The Orlando Magic re-signed Bamba to trade him; at least, that’s how it appears. His role has diminished this season with the arrival of No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero and the emergence of Bol Bol.

Bamba (who can’t be dealt until mid-January) is on a two-year $20.6 million contract, but the second season is non-guaranteed. Orlando would like a first but may be looking for younger players who can grow with its young team longer term.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers, Kings and Raptors may have interest, among others.

It remains to be seen which move the Los Angeles Lakers will make in the future. Mo Bamba could certainly be a good option for them, but Myles Turner is clearly the better overall player.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that is in a tough position as of right now due to the Anthony Davis injury. Hopefully, they figure out a way to stay afloat while the superstar is out, and perhaps they can still make the playoffs this year.
