NBA Rumors: Memphis Grizzlies Could Trade Dillon Brooks And Kyle Anderson “For The Right Price”

The Memphis Grizzlies have had a solid season with their young core, and they managed to make the playoffs by beating the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors. While the Grizzlies have made the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season with their current mix of players, it looks as though changes could be on the horizon.

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com has recently reported that the Memphis Grizzlies could be willing to part with forwards Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson “for the right price”. The reported reason was that the Memphis Grizzlies have too many players on their roster, and could entertain a trade to cut down the number of guaranteed contracts on the payroll.

Keep an eye on Detroit and Memphis. Both teams have too many guaranteed contracts. They need to fix that. Sources say Grizzlies small forwards Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson are available for the right price.

Kyle Anderson is a solid defensive forward who shot 36% from beyond the arc this season. He is a very solid connecting piece, and he is capable of making the right plays to set up his teammates. Dillon Brooks is a promising two-way wing who averaged 17.2 PPG last season with solid perimeter defense. Both would find good fits with various rosters around the league and will be interesting to see whether there will be any teams that make serious offers for either player.

While it is quite possible that the Memphis Grizzlies would be willing to trade either player in a deal that benefits them, they don’t necessarily need to pull the trigger on a trade, and could trim the roster elsewhere. Another recent report suggested that Rajon Rondo could be traded or bought out to get underneath the player limit. Regardless of how they do it though, the Memphis Grizzlies need to move on from some players on their roster, and it remains to be seen how they end up doing that.
