Breaking: Heat Trade For Andre Iguodala

Pat Riley has some big plans for his team. As the shock of the season, the Heat have been soaring way above expectations. The miraculous performances of Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Nunn, and Bam Adebayo have kept the team squarely near the top of the East standings since the season began.

And with a core competing with the best of them, Riley is going all-in on winning the Chip this season. In a tweet by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, they have agreed to a trade for former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, two-way veteran Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill for a package including young forward, Justise Winslow.

Memphis has agreed to a deal to send Andre Iguodala to Miami, league source tells ESPN. Iguodala agreed to trade and has agreed to a two-year, $30M extension with Miami.

Iguodala, 36, has yet to play for Memphis after getting traded from the Warriors last summer. As a two-way veteran, leader, and Champion, he is clearly intent on finding a home where he can compete at the highest level. He’d be an exceptional fit with Jimmy Butler and the well-rounded group of players surrounding him.

His experience and defensive intensity should help the Heat reach their goals this season.

And while we have yet to find out who else the Heat are pursuing, you can bet that — one way or another — he will do his part to ensure his team can remain contenders for years to come.
